Vinh City has a pedestrian street for the first time
NGHE AN – Walking Street in Vinh City was trialed on the occasion of the anniversary of the ancestors’ death, attracting tens of thousands of people to visit and enjoy the food.
From 7 pm last weekend, many locals and tourists flocked to the pedestrian street near Ho Chi Minh Square in the center of Vinh City. About an hour later, the number of people recording reached thousands. The most crowded area is Ho Tung Mau street, is where there is a water orchestra, the stage of the Vi Giam folk club, and musical groups.
On Nguyen Van Cu Street, where there are rows of Christmas trees, the sidewalks are clean and paved with stones, and restaurants and cafes are also crowded with customers. The number of people is large, but there is no jostling or jostling, most people wear masks to prevent Covid-19. “The space is ideal, clean. This is a new place for us to have the opportunity to admire the scenery and enjoy the food on the weekend,” said Phuong, a resident of Vinh City.
During the operation of the pedestrian street, the traffic police set up barriers at the beginning of the road to guide vehicles. Many parking lots around the street have been arranged by the government. During this time, the force on duty organizes to inspect and handle violations of encroachment on sidewalks and roadways.
Leaders of Vinh City estimated that tens of thousands of people came to the neighborhood in two nights of trial operation. “The number of people coming to the crowded street is a good sign, especially at this time when tourism is reopening. After the trial period, we will open the next occasion,” the official said. As planned, the street will continue to open every Friday and Saturday, with operating time from 19:00 to 23:30.
The first pedestrian street of Vinh City was prepared in the past two years, with a scale of about 1.5 km with 4 interconnected routes. In, the section of Ho Tung Mau (from Cau Nai to the beginning of Nguyen Trung Ngan street) is 430 m long; section Nguyen Van Cu (the first point intersects with Ho Tung Mau street, the endpoint intersects with Le Hong Phong street) is 500 m long. The remaining section is Nguyen Trung Ngan (from the beginning of Lane 2 to the intersection of Nguyen Van Cu Street) and Nguyen Tai (from the intersection of Ho Tung Mau Street to the intersection of Nguyen Van Cu Street).
The selection of the four walking paths mentioned above has linked the central area, forming a vibrant circle. On these routes, there are also hundreds of catering, fashion, art and entertainment businesses, helping to promote regional cuisine and increase consumption of goods…
