From Lao Cai city center to Lung Po about 70km. You can follow the route DT 158 through the winding and steep passes before reaching the Lung Po junction. It is best to go by motorbike to make it more convenient for the journey to both explore and admire the beautiful scenery.

Lung Po flagpole was built in 2016 to commemorate the feats of border guards A Mu Sung in the fight to protect the country’s border. This project was completed in 2017, becoming a destination in Bat Xat frequented by many Vietnamese and international tourists.

The flagpole was built with a height of 31.43 meters, symbolizing the height of the “roof of Vietnam” Fansipan 3143 meters high. On the top of the flagpole is a red flag with a yellow star of 25 m2, symbolizing 25 ethnic groups living in Lao Cai province. The entire flagpole is located on a large area of 2,100 m2.

According to the share of many visitors when coming here, visitors can follow the spiral staircase inside the flagpole to go to the top. From the top of the flagpole, you will have a full view of the beautiful mountains of the Bat Xat district. In the distance are villages of ethnic minorities, nearby is Lung Po junction where Lung Po stream and Red river meet.
