The overwhelming scene of the cave that has just been put into operation in Quang Binh
Hung Thoong one of the most pristine places of Phong Nha – Ke Bang is experimenting with tourism exploitation, where visitors will be immersed in nature, soaking in cool streams.
Information from the Department of Tourism of Quang Binh province, the People’s Committee of this province has allowed the trial exploitation of the Hung Thoong discovery tour, starting from January 1. A representative of the Hung Thoong discovery tour operator said that this is a cave discovered by indigenous people in 2009, and has just been put into trial operation, not just discovered like some sites. information network.
Talking about the Hung Thoong system, also known as Thong valley, this place was once considered the most pristine of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park because no tourists had ever set foot before.
Hung Thoong system includes many other caves such as: Tron cave, Hung cave, mountain lake, Thung cave or Nightmare sinkhole. According to experts, this is a unique and very different cave system. It is named Hung Thoong because it surrounds the stream of the same name.
The Hung Thoong system is located deep in the strictly protected subdivision of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, surrounded by a system of millions of years old limestone mountains and primeval forests. The only way to access these caves is walking along the forest trails.
To explore Hung Thoong, visitors will walk through the forest, climb over the rocky mountains, swim through underground caves, wriggle in dry caves and camp among the great thousands of Phong Nha – Ke Bang, being immersed in nature. However, enjoy the feeling of soaking in the cool streams.
Inside the large and deep caves are stalactites dating back millions of years with many beautiful colors and patterns. Typically at Hung Cave, the system of emulsions is like a crystal with a drop of water at the top of each tube.
And at Tron cave, deep inside the cave will be a blue underground lake, about 1km long. Here, guests can experience swimming at the lake or relaxing SUP boating. As for Thung cave, there is a large lake system, to move deeper, you must swim through a lake about 100m wide, then continue to swing to climb to a position 15-20m higher than the lake surface.
Another special feature in Hung Thoong is the sinkhole and mountain lake. A sinkhole is a hole caused by the subsidence of soil and rock on the surface when the soil below is gradually hollowed out to the point where there is no longer enough connection to support the rocks above. As a phenomenon that comes from nature and is somewhat dangerous due to the unique topographic structure, but to admire a sinkhole is still the dream of many tourists as well as natural beauty enthusiasts. Hung Thoong’s sinkhole is called Nightmare, with a depth of 250m.
According to the Quang Binh Department of Tourism, the product of conquering Hung Thoong is an attractive tour with potentials with its own beauties, majestic and unspoiled landscapes. However, to be able to officially license the Hung Thoong tour, it still needs to go through the actual test time.
After one year of testing, Quang Binh will review and re-evaluate the level of implementation of the required criteria such as: Product strengths; how attractive the product is to tourists; the issue of protection and preservation of heritage has been done well; Labor issues, ensuring safety…
If the criteria are well met, the miner can continue with the deployment. If it is not effective, Quang Binh province will make another plan or stop exploiting to protect natural heritage. Information at the present time is that a tour will last 3 days and 2 nights, with a package fee of 8 million VND/person, including the forest environment fee of 1.3 million VND/person.($1=24,000 VND)
