The gateway to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City is congested on the last day of the holiday
Ring 3, Phap Van Expressway, National Highway 13, Trung Luong Expressway… into the two cities with traffic jams due to people pouring in after the holiday, on the afternoon of September 4.
At 15:00, the line of cars stretching for more than 2 km moves slowly on Ring Road 3, the section through Linh Dam urban area. These are mainly cars from Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Hai Phong provinces returning to Hanoi after 4 days of public holidays.
From 12 o’clock, cars follow each other for 4 km from Phap Van – Cau Gie expressway toll station to Phap Van intersection and Ring 3 intersection. This is the southern gateway area of Hanoi city, which often happens to be congested on the occasion before and after the holiday due to the large traffic volume.

At many points on the highway, traffic police have set up soft points to separate lanes to avoid prolonged congestion.
People are tired in the middle of the line of wheelchairs rolling into the capital little by little.
The bypass roads, the roads of people living along the national highways are also full of motorbikes and cars.
Waiting for a long time, many people got off the car, climbed the fence of Phap Van – Cau Gie highway, passing through Tho An village, Lien Ninh commune to enter the street to find another car.
At the northeastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City , the number of vehicles is high on Highway 13, heading into the inner city from about 4 pm. This is the lifeline leading to Mien Dong Bus Station (Binh Thanh District), focusing on the number of vehicles from Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong … gathered on the last day of the holiday.
The leader of Mien Dong Bus Station said that since last night, the number of passenger cars returning to the station in the provinces has increased as many people return to the city early to save time or fear traffic jams. It is expected that tonight and tomorrow morning, passenger cars will continue to gather at the busier station.
At the western gateway of the city, the section from Trung Luong – Ho Chi Minh City highway to Tan Tao – Cho Dem intersection at 15:30 has a traffic jam lasting nearly 3 km. Thousands of cars followed each other moving slowly. Four traffic policemen stand at this intersection to direct traffic.
Motorcycles and cars from the western provinces run on Highway 1, a section through Binh Chanh district, the western gateway of Ho Chi Minh City. People carry their children and luggage to the city.
At 16:30, vehicles lined up for nearly 2 km waiting to cross the Cat Lai ferry to Ho Chi Minh City. Today, the number of passengers crossing the ferry is expected to be more than 75,000, an increase of more than 20,000 compared to September 3. The Youth Volunteer Ferry Management Enterprise (Cat Lai ferry management unit) mobilized all 7 ferries, along with plans to regulate and divide traffic to limit congestion at the wharf.
