The enchanting beauty of Cam Son Lake when the weather turns to autumn
Cam Son Lake (Bac Giang province) resembles the image of a giant octopus, pouring water in four directions, creating spectacular beauty for a large mountainous region.
Cam Son Lake is located in the mountains of Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang) and a small part of the territory of Huu Lung and Chi Lang districts of Lang Son province. This lake is an irrigation facility.
The capacity of the Cam Son reservoir is about 250 million m3 of water, which is responsible for regulating and supplying water for agricultural production in the Luc Ngan (Bac Giang) and Huu Lung (Lang Son) districts.
There are many large and small islands floating on the water with green forests creating a charming landscape. Clouds, sky, young, water blend…
At the location in Son Hai commune, there is a 300m long pontoon bridge shortening the travel distance for people.
In 1971, during a field trip to this place, the late musician Pho Duc Phuong felt the beauty of Cam Son Lake and composed the song “Ho on the Mountain”. In the photo is a small island with a cool, unspoiled forest above.
The total surface area of the lake is about 2,650ha, but this number will change in the dry or rainy season. In addition to the function of supplying water for irrigation, the lake also plays the role of regulating water sources for upstream of the Thuong River; flood diversion and flood control for downstream areas in Lang Giang, Yen Dung and Bac Giang city districts.

The land around Cam Son lake, alluvial deposits are fertile and people make use of it to grow crops. In addition, the lake bed is also aquaculture.

The length of the lake is nearly 30km, the width is 7km at the widest place, the narrowest place is 200m, the lake bed is about 47m deep, there are many islands.
The pass road around the lake is winding when going up, when going down. From above, you can have a panoramic view of the landscape of Cam Son Lake.
Patchy clouds cover the area of Cam Son Lake. Because it is a mountain lake, the shores of the lake are surrounded by mountains. Residents living near the lake are the Nung, Tay, and Kinh ethnic groups.
In June and July, you can admire the beauty of the red Luc Ngan hill when the lychee season is ripe. At the present time, the terraced fields are ripe and golden.
