According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay (63 years old, Hai Nam village, Nhon Hai commune), apricots begin to appear in the hot season, around May-July every year. This is also the time when many photographers and tourists find this fishing village in this coastal town of Quy Nhon.
“Hon Kho also provides local people with abundant aquatic resources. The vast areas of seaweed under the sea are the habitats and breeding grounds of many marine species, including very valuable species such as lobsters and lobsters. , grouper, red snapper… It is the seaweed that also creates income for the people of the fishing village when it is exploited in accordance with local regulations and guidelines,” said Ms. Bay.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ton Xuan Sang, leader of the coral protection group in Nhon Hai commune, the number of visitors to Hon Kho in the summer is increasing gradually, especially in the dream season.
“Snorkeling activities of tourists are always propagated and reminded by members of the Protection Team so as not to affect the seaweed area, especially the core area with coral reefs assigned by the government to manage and protect strictly. strict,” said Mr. Sang.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam, Vice Chairman of Nhon Hai Commune People’s Committee, said that the seaweed area belongs to an area zoned by the People’s Committee of Quy Nhon City for protection. The aim is to conserve coastal aquatic species in the breeding season.
The management is carried out by the Community Organization for the Protection of Fisheries Resources in Nhon Hai Commune, with an area of nearly 13 hectares zoned, including the buffer zone and the core zone.
