Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard before the completion date of the expansion
HO CHI MINH CITY – Two kilometers of Nguyen Van Linh Street, District 7, expanded to 10 lanes to help reduce congestion on the South Saigon arterial route, expected to be completed by the end of May.
Nguyen Van Linh Street is more than 18 km long, extending from Huynh Tan Phat Street (District 7) to National Highway 1 (Binh Chanh District). This is considered one of the biggest boulevards in the city, but in recent years, the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone area is crowded with traffic, often congested during rush hours.
Therefore, the section in front of the export processing zone, from Huynh Tan Phat to Nguyen Thi Thap, more than two kilometers long, was widened from 6 to 10 lanes. Construction started at the end of last year, invested by Phu My Hung Development Co., Ltd.
The road surface is widened by 13.25 m on each side, thereby increasing the width to 57 m, including more than 7 m of lanes and 6 m of pavement. On the morning of May 24, the road surface here was completely paved and cars were allowed to run into all lanes.
Between the two roads, trees have been planted and lighting systems are installed.
In the lanes reserved for cars and motorbikes, a steel eel is installed, about one meter high.
Some parts of the road surface are under construction, the final items include spreading crushed stone, rolling the floor before asphalt carpeting.
Nearby, a group of workers painted road markings, emergency stops, bus stops… and installed traffic signs.
The male drilling worker cuts the road surface into small cells in rows between the lanes to construct the eel.
At the section near Huynh Tan Phat Street, Mr. Trung and his colleagues paved the sidewalk.
Workers ducked into manholes to construct the underground electrical system installed below.
An electric pole at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh – Nguyen Thi Thap streets are waiting to be relocated. According to the investor, the basic items have been completed, just waiting for the work of other units such as electricity, underground cable … synchronous construction of the entire route.
Started in 1996 and put into full operation in 2007, Nguyen Van Linh Street, with a total investment of 100 million USD after being put into operation, created a premise for the formation and development of South Saigon and Phu My Hung urban areas. Hiep Phuoc port industrial park…
Currently, Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard is one of the largest arterial roads in Ho Chi Minh City, which is paid back by investors, expected by 2028.
