After two years of stopping due to Covid-19, Ho Chi Minh City will launch New Year’s Eve fireworks at 6 locations, including a new location in Binh Chanh district.

Information was said by Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports Vo Trong Nam at the program of people asking – the government answered, on the morning of January 8

In particular, a high-altitude firing point at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Duc City). 5 low-level spots at: Ben Noc Monument Memorial Temple (Thu Duc City), Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11), Can Thanh Town (Can Gio District), Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple (District) Cu Chi), and the Memorial of Martyrs of Mau Than 1968 in Binh Chanh district. Fireworks are fired for 15 minutes at 0:00 on January 22 (the first day of the Lunar New Year); funding from social sources.

Fireworks display is a regular activity on major holidays (April 30 and September 2), New Year and Lunar New Year in Ho Chi Minh City to serve residents and visitors. However, in the past two years, affected by Covid-19, Ho Chi Minh City did not launch New Year’s Eve fireworks to prevent and control the epidemic. Last New Year the city shot at two points.

Vice Chairman of the City Confederation of Labor Pham Chi Tam said that the union’s total expense for taking care of employees during the 2023 Lunar New Year is VND 140 billion. Specifically: giving away 35,000 train, car and plane tickets for union members and workers to return home to celebrate Tet; organized for 5,000 worker households with 20,000 people to visit and experience for free at Dam Sen Cultural Park; organized an online market to provide necessities for 5,000 workers…
