The owner is Mrs. Nguyen Thi Van (51 years old), who started opening a restaurant in 2009. “I’ve been trying to cook fish noodles myself, I didn’t go to school, I also sold bun cha before, so I also have some experience. experience”, Ms. Van shared.

The small fish noodle shop is nestled among other shops, but every time it opens, it’s bustling with people coming in and out. Entering the restaurant, the first is a small kitchen with two pots of broth, and a glass cabinet full of fried fish, fish cakes, shrimp and seasonal vegetables. Behind is a small space with two rows of plastic chairs for diners to enjoy.

In addition to crispy fried fish, Ca Van noodle shop also has a type of steamed fish that is ordered according to each person’s taste. Crispy fried fish is eaten wherever you go and is still hot “freshly out of the oven”, so when enjoying, diners will feel the delicious, sweet taste of fresh fish.

“All the fish in the restaurant are tilapia selected from Van Dien according to acquaintances. I called to report the fish from the evening at 4 am the next morning, the termites brought it to the store, I cleaned it up and waited. When you eat it, it’s crispy. Shrimps, fish cakes, and rice cakes are all imported in Hai Phong, and the vermicelli is taken from the famous Phu Do vermicelli village,” Ms. Van shared.

A full bowl of vermicelli with fish served, peeled shrimp placed on top, under seasonal vegetables, now with vegetables and celery, all mixed under the sweet, slightly sour fish bone broth. 

Having been on CNN and an international television series, Ms. Van shared: “In the past, when I was on international television, I was very happy, and continued to improve so that the restaurant could satisfy customers, please. guests go”.

The shop sells fish noodles, and fish cakes…, on average, Ms. Van sells about 400-500 bowls of all kinds every day, on holidays or weekends can sell more. The shop is open from 6 am to 14 pm.

The price of a bowl of fish noodle soup in the morning is 30,000 VND, adding fish cakes is 35,000 VND, fish and shrimp are 35,000 VND, a bowl of fish – rolls – shrimp costs 45,000 VND.

However, the minus point of the restaurant according to diners’ assessment is that the restaurant has a rather small space, at peak hours the service is slow, customers have to wait a long time to get their turn. In addition, the broth some people think is not enough sourness characteristic of fish noodles.

Ms. Hanh, a regular customer of the restaurant shared: “I work recently, and sometimes come here to eat fish noodle soup. The restaurant has a quite rich and delicious broth, the bowl of vermicelli is quite full compared to the current price. But the weak point. Especially the restaurant is quite small, many days when I go out to eat, it is quite crowded.
