Flag raising ceremony to celebrate National Day September 2
HANOI – On the morning of September 1, to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the National Day, the national flag-raising ceremony was held at Ba Dinh square.
At 5:50 a.m. on September 1, soldiers from Division 275 (Command to protect Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum) performed a flag raising ceremony at Ba Dinh Square.
The lineup to perform the ceremony consisted of 37 people. The Military Flag Army is the leader, followed by 34 soldiers, representing the first 34 soldiers of the Vietnam Liberation Army Propaganda Team, the forerunner of the Vietnam People’s Army.
3 soldiers of the red team solemnly walked up to the podium to prepare to perform the main rituals.
The idea of carrying out the flag raising ceremony on the square was approved by the Government on May 19, 2001, on the occasion of the 111th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh. This is the 21st time this ritual has been performed.
At 5:59 a.m., soldiers carried the national flag and hung it on the flagpole, preparing for the ceremony.
At exactly 6 o’clock, when the national anthem was played, the soldiers threw the flag and the national flag was hoisted on a 29 m high flagpole.
The army salutes the flag solemnly when the national flag is raised in the background of the national anthem.
Outside, many residents and tourists got up early to witness the flag raising ceremony to celebrate National Day.
After 10 minutes of performing the ceremony, the team of soldiers marched around the door of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
The red flag with a yellow star was flown on Ba Dinh square to celebrate the 77th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2022).
