To get to Son Tra peninsula, you can travel by many means such as car, motorbike, train route Hanoi – Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang. However, to save time, you should choose to go by plane.
After arriving in Da Nang, you start from Dragon Bridge, go straight across the bridge to the end of the road, then turn left onto Vo Nguyen Giap Street. Continue going straight to Hoang Sa road to reach the foot of the peninsula. Most of the sightseeing places are located along this route.

When is the best time to visit Son Tra?
No matter what time of year, Son Tra still has its own attractions. From March to September is the time when the weather is dry and sunny, suitable for you to participate in activities such as swimming, “hunting” romantic sunsets, traveling on winding roads, etc. From late August to mid-September, there are often sudden rains, so remember to check the weather forecast before scheduling.

Black Rock Beach

Top of the Chess Board
Ban Co Peak is likened to the “roof” of Da Nang because it has an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. The name Ban Co is also associated with a legend passed down through generations. Because Son Tra peninsula possesses a charming landscape, the two fairies chose the highest place to play chess for many days. One day, a fairy flew down to the beach right next to the peninsula to have fun, causing a fairy to distract the game, go to the wrong country and lose the battle. The winner rode the clouds to heaven, the remaining fairy, because he had not yet accepted defeat, decided to sit down and find a new move, but day after day there was still no result. Therefore, the people here built a statue of a fairy sitting by the chessboard to prove the legend.
