KHANH HOA – Binh Ba and Binh Hung islands are banned from traveling to ensure the security of the military base at Cam Ranh.

On April 22, the People’s Committee of Cam Ranh City asked the Department of Tourism, the Department of Information and Communications, the Provincial Center for Information and Tourism Promotion to coordinate information, asking businesses “not to conduct, develop the type of tourism and product advertising in Binh Ba and Binh Hung islands (Hon Chut)”.

Previously, in 2015, according to the Prime Minister’s decision on regulations to ensure the security and safety of Cam Ranh military bases, Binh Ba and Binh Hung islands and the Hoi Cape area were not allowed to develop tourism. However, over the years, small tours and retail customers have been openly performed.

Projects in Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan related to Cam Ranh military base area must have the opinion of the Ministry of National Defense before submitting to the Government for approval.

Binh Ba is an island in Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province, 60 km south of Nha Trang city. The island has an area of about 3 km2, with pristine beaches, clear blue water, quite convenient to move. In recent years, Binh Ba has been one of the famous destinations for domestic tourists. Binh Hung Island, just 1 km from the mainland, is one of the “Tu Binh” along with Binh Ba and two other islands, Binh Lap and Binh Tien.
